Psychologists continue to be amazed at how people cannot see things directly in front of their eyes -- like the person who drinks a bottle of whiskey every day, but who denies being an alcoholic. Entire families, communities, cultures can be in denial such as the denial of child sex abuse within a family that has been going on for years.
