The following signs of an abusive relationship are meant to apply to a relationship that is equal, i.e. husband and wife. In an unequal relationship such as a father and son, father and daughter, the rules will be slightly different. However, respect for the other person is always at the heart. We can almost expect children to be abusive since abusiveness is, in a sense, a childish and immature behavior. It is up to us as adults to show children how to discuss, argue and negotiate in a mature manner.
